Eric Lefebvre – Keyboards

Eric nearly quit music at age 13 when the strictness and precision of classical piano could not hold his attention. Instead, he moved to a seasoned jazz piano teacher and fell in love with improvisation, music theory, and song writing. No longer a chore, music became a sorely-needed creative outlet. After another three years, Eric eventually ended piano lessons in favor of studying STEM at university (learning guitar in his spare time). Since graduating Eric has been re-discovering music and exploring the Toronto music scene; playing with various rock, soul, and funk projects before finding The Imagine If.

Eric listens to a wide spectrum of genres, including Jazz, Metal, Classic Rock, and Motown music; however, the Beatles have been an overarching influence on his musical taste. Eric sees his sonic role in The Imagine If as the driver of harmonically-interesting textures, inspired by the keyboards of the late 20th century (Rhodes, Wurlitzer EP, Hammond, Mellotron, etc.).
